D-Link DWM-T100
After launching their TV Tuner for Android, it was quickly discovered that the software actually required users to side-load an APK which of course meant allowing installs of software from unknown sources. It’s been a little over a month and DLink has advised that last week their Dlink TV Tuner app on Google Play has been updated to now be compatible with Lollipop and it’s now completely hosted on Google Play.

There’s no changelog listed on Google Play – that’s naughty DLink – but the changes are for the better. We’ve tested the app and it’s definitely working on the Nexus 6 and the LG G3 on Lollipop, so we can confirm that. We can also confirm that with ‘Allow installs from unknown sources’ unticked you can definitely install the app and aren’t prompted to install anything else.

So far there’s only been 10-50 installs of the DLink app, meaning there hasn’t been a great amount of installs so far. We’ve been holding off on our review till the app was fully hosted on Google Play, now that’s in place the review will be up imminently.

This new app is missing features from the previous one. You can’t remove channels you aren’t interested in from the channels list and you can’t set it to record a programme automatically. You have to manually begin and end recording.

Should probably save this for the review but can you record in the background?

Using my TV Tuner now to record The Block on my tablet, while I watch MKR on the big TV!

Me neither but I’ll be having a look.

I didn’t even know such a thing existed! Would be pretty cool to use on the trains, that being said commute-time television is pretty crappy.
