Vodafone has quietly added the Samsung Galaxy J1 Ace 4G (that’s a mouthful!) mobile to their pre-paid line of phones for $149.

The Samsung Galaxy J1 Ace 4G is slightly different from the already released Galaxy J1, which is available from Optus and Telstra. The phone is reasonably unremarkable but seems to be overall a pretty decent phone when looking at the specs but seems to be a little overpriced for what it is considering the low-resolution screen, small amount of internal storage and RAM.

Here is a full rundown of the specs for the Samsung Galaxy J1 Ace 4G:

  • 4.3” WVGA sAMOLED Display (480×800)
  • 1.2GHz Quad-Core 64-bit Processor
  • 0.75 GB RAM
  • 4GB Memory, expandable to 128GB via microSD
  • 5MP Rear Camera, 2MP front facing
  • WiFi 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS
  • Network Connectivity:
    • 2G: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
    • 3G: 900/2100 MHz
    • 4G: 800/850/900/1800/2100/2600 MHz (LTE Cat 4 Ready)
  • Android 4.4.4 (KitKat)
  • 1900mAh Li-ion Battery

The only bright(ish) parts of the device is the inclusion of Cat 4 LTE, the decently bright AMOLED display, and an ‘Ultra Power Saving Mode’ that should extend your phone use by turning the screen black and white and shutting down non-essential apps.

If you are interested in finding out more or trying out the Samsung Galaxy J1 Ace 4G, you can check it out either through your local Vodafone store or via the Vodafone website with the phone available for $149.
