The Moto G4 Plus was a hit with Chris when he reviewed it mid-2016. He thought it was well designed and performed at a high level without compromising on price. OF course following up sucha solid device is tough and we wait patiently for the G5 Plus to be announced. Today we saw it pop up in a leaked photo revealing its specs and they seem to be just what we were hoping for.

The image shows the Moto G5 Plus with its plastic screen protector on it. Luckily for us Motorola like to throw the specs on these plastic screen protectors for all to see. The Moto G5 Plus will arrive with a 12MP “Rapid Focus Camera” and a 3000mAh battery which supports Motorola’s TurboPower charging method. The display is a full HD 5.2in screen powered by a 2.0 GHz octacore processor (no mention of the brand processor although it is expected to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625). There will also be NFC and a fingerprint reader (located on the front as it was for the Moto G4 Plus).

Other rumours circulating have the phone arriving with 4GB of RAM in tow and only 32GB of onboard storage. Considering the Moto G4 Plus is being upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat next week we can assume the G5 Plus will arrive with Nougat as well.

It is expected that the Moto G5 Plus will be officially announced at MWC in Barcelona keeping Chris, Duncan and Jason even busier than expected.

Anyone out there got the Moto G4 Plus? Looking to upgrade? Would you upgrade to this?

Wasn’t the G4 Plus with a 5.5in screen? Weird for phones to go smaller… Most are larger with smaller bezels.

Was 5.2in the size of the regular Moto G4 (which we didn’t get here, right)?
