Vivo, owned by the same company as OPPO, realme and OnePlus, BBK Electronics, has been gently making their way to Australian shores. OPPO has been a presence in Australia for some time, so it makes sense for Vivo to follow. Their X50 Pro 5G has appeared on the JB Hi-Fi website at a pretty reasonable $999 with a Fitbit Versa 2 as a pre-order bonus.
The phone itself is a dual-sim, 6.56-inch, 2K with 90Hz refresh screen which has some reasonably beefy hardware behind it too. The chipset is a mid-range Snapdragon 765 with Kryo 475 Processor and Adreno 650 GPU. The JB Hi-Fi stocked model has 256GB storage with 8GB RAM and a full range of connectivity (not Wi-Fi 6 though).
On paper, the camera setup appears reasonable with a 48MP main lens an 8MP periscope telephoto lens, a 13MP wide angle lens and an 8MP portrait camera in the rear camera module. The selfie camera is a 32 MP, f/2.5, 26mm wide-angle lens. This is all powered by a 4315mAh battery, which should be sufficient for most users to last a full day, and offers 33W fast charging.
The specs are pretty solid, but Vivo are just beginning to forge their name in the Australian market. The only real question here is, will users spend a grand on a phone from a yet to be proven (in Australia) brand name?

If the vivo x50 lite was anything to go by, it is absolutely mediocre, so mediocre that even internet banking apps will not work. Useless piece of garbage
