If you’ve been seeing the tweets, links, and news stories about the 4.2.1 update for the Nexus 4 and 10 devices and then looking at your poor Nexus 7, and thinking… what about me? It isn’t fair! (must be sung in tune… or close to). Well, sing no more… really… stop. The update URL has been uncovered so you can manually update the device right now.

All you need to do is grab THIS file, only 1.05MB in size. This will fix the “Decembergate” issue in the People app. Of course, it has started being pushed out OTA today, so you could wait for it. But I know that some of you want it done … NOW! If you have stock recovery, you can install via ADB, or from the internal storage if you have a custom recovery such as Clockwork Mod.

This particular file is only for the Wi-Fi, which is all we currently have in Australia (Nakasi). And while it’s a pretty safe update, back up your important stuff anyway… just in case.

Got mine yesterday. I found 4.2 to be unusually laggy. 4.2.1 seems to have fixed all that!
