Google has released their monthly security bulletin, releasing fixes in the form of updates for their supported Nexus and Pixel devices at the same time.

The August update patches a number of different reported vulnerabilities affecting media framework, libraries, the Kernel and hardware updates from Mediatek, Qualcomm and Broadcomm. There are, as usual, two patch levels: 2017-08-01 and 2017-08-05, with manufacturers free to update their devices as they see fit, though the 5th August patch includes a number of Googe device specific updates.

Google has released OTA updates and factory images with the 5th of August security patch implemented, and will be pushing security OTA updates to supported Nexus and Pixel devices over the next few days. The updates include:

Nexus:

  • Nexus 6: N6F27I & N8I11B
  • Nexus 6P: N2G48C
  • Nexus 5X: N2G48C

  • Nexus 9 Wi-Fi: N4F27K

Pixel:

Google will push the updates, but of course you can head over to the OTA or Factory Images pages and download the requisite files for your device and flash it manually.
