Nexus - Logo
The automated Nexus toolkits from XDA-Developer user Mskip have been enormously popular and spawned many copy cats along the way, with the release of the Nexus 5 he’s just launched the Unified Android Toolkit to support the most commonly used Nexus devices.

The full list of supported devices includes the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 [2012], Nexus 7 [2013] and the Nexus 10 and these are all supported in version 1 of the Unified Android Toolkit but MSkip also has toolkits for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Samsung Galaxy S3, Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini, Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 [2012 edition] and the Samsung Galaxy Camera, he plans to implement these devices into an all encompassing App in phase 2 of the release.

The Toolkit will automate a lot of the processes involved in unlocking, rooting or restoring a Nexus device. The full list of features included in the toolkit is long….very long :

  • Install correct adb/fastboot drivers automatically on Windows xp/vista/7/8 32bit+64bit

  • Rename the Recovery Restore File present on some Stock Roms
  • Boot into CWM Touch, TWRP or Stock Recovery without Flashing it
  • Boot or Flash .img Files directly from your PC

  • Reboot Phone to Fastboot Mode or Android from fastboot mode
  • Reboot Phone to Fastboot Mode, Recovery, Android or Download Mode from adb mode
  • Display Important Information about your device

While the above features are free if you download the App, there is an option to pay a donation, this donation entitles you to the Professional Version of the Unified Android Toolkit, the professional version gives you eveything above plus :

  • Auto Update ToolKit to latest available version at startup
  • Program up to 10 Quickpick slots and run them very quickly

If you’re into modding Android at all, then it’s ALWAYS best to learn to do these updates and mods manually, for which XDA-Developers is a fantastic place to start, but if you’re wanting a relatively easy way to do it, then this is a great way to go. To get access to the toolkit and start modding head on over to XDA now.

Do you prefer to mod your Nexus manually or automate it?

I may have to buy a PC to replace my Mac just to be able to use this!

or you could just use bootcamp and install windows on your Mac?
