Secret
What does the fox say? I dunno, he said it on Secret. Secret is an app which lets you apparently share your deepest darkest secrets to your friends anonymously, it puts secrets out there which can be seen by people in your address book but with none of your contact details associated with it and today it’s launched on Android.

Secret became popular in the US when it launched on iOS late last year, mainly in the Silicon Valley area of the US. The employees of some of the hottest tech companies in the world seemed to flock to the platform, which was the brainchild of a former Google Product manager for Google+ – Chrys Bader-Wechseler and Square Wallet tech lead David Byttow. Secret rolled out to the rest of the world last month and has now finally arrived on Android.

Secret shows you secrets shared by friends in your address book, as well as secrets from ‘friends of friends’. You can also just browse popular secrets. There’s some interesting things that secret has done to ensure anonymity – if you have less than three friends on Secret you won’t be seeing secrets from ‘Friends’, in fact if you don’t have enough friends on Secret your posts won’t even show up with the friend tag or friend of friend tag to help protect your anonymity – Secret also recommends you don’t share photos cause that will probably give the game away.

The App itself is pretty nicely designed. Secret contains a pretty decent way to share secrets as well as the ability to share photos and customise posts with backdrops, textures and moods. You can view secrets in your stream and add comments with a unique avatar for each conversation to really add that layer of anonymity.

There’s always the worry that you may have shared too much. You can delete secrets or edit them, even once you’ve shared them and if you just want out of the whole platform all together, simply email the team at secret and they’ll remove you.

It’s not something for everyone, but if you want to check out what all the fuss the iOS people have been making about for the last six months, head over to Google Play and check it out. You can even check out the iOS rage that’s currently going on at the moment about letting the Android people in to ruin their perfectly nice platform ;).

I forgot to mention, good write up though.
I’m taking the pi$$ out of the app, not your article.
