Twitter continues to innovate in their own space, offering more and more reasons to use their own client. Today Twitter has announced they are bringing better ways to communicate privately, offering the ability to now Direct Message (DM) groups of people, as well as offering a way to capture, edit and share video through Twitter.

Most Twitter users are pretty well familiar with Direct Messages, but the new option will allow you to add up to 20 users to a Direct Message Group. Twitter also notes that not everyone who knows you will be following each other and the new Groups feature won’t require them to follow each other to participate in a group DM.

The new video feature appears to be a continuation of the Twitter ‘Vines’ which offer 6-second video clips which you can share. While Vines are available in a separate client, Twitter Video will work through the Twitter app. You can capture and share up to 30-second videos through Twitter, adding and arranging clips in the editing feature before you post your video.

The feature should roll out to users soon, with the video feature heading to iOS users first, with Android coming soon. Keep an eye out for the update in the coming weeks though.
