The device dubbed the ‘Playstation Phone’ and now more aptly named Xperia Play has seen more than its fair share of leaks in the recent weeks, but we’ve finally been able to see it running on video (which you can check out after the break). There’s also a complete list of specs that have found their way onto the internet after a few people dismantled the unreleased device.

  • Android 2.3 “Gingerbread”
  • 1GHz Qualcomm CPU w/ Adreno 205 GPU
  • 512MB RAM
  • 4.1″ FWVGA LCD Display (854×480)
  • 1500mAh Battery
  • 5MP Camera w/ 720p Video Recording
  • MicroSD Slot
  • 3.5mm jack

There’s no news on the 3G frequencies, but if rumour is correct it will be headed to O2 in the UK which requires 900/2100MHz just like Optus & Vodafone here. Video after the break.

Very interested in this. I have a Moto Milestone at the moment but only use the hardware keyboard for games/emulators since Swype is so amazingly awesome.

BrainBeat

The question that I am wondering is if this were to be a psp phone does it in fact play downloaded psp games via some emulator or native? From the looks of the vid it seems unlikely and just a phone with gaming controls which are not likely to be a whole lot useful for most (all?) android games at the moment and maybe in the future.

Gotta love what happens on screen when they slide it open from the lock screen.
