Sony will be updating its first range of Android tablets — Tablet S and Tablet P — to Android 4.0.3 next month according to the company’s press releases in Japan. The update won’t just bring the tablets up to the latest version of Android, it will also include a few perks from Sony themselves. You’ll be able to directly take photos — and, apparently, panoramas — from the lockscreen.

Sony will also be included new functionality called “Small Apps”. These are apps that run in a small window in front of whatever app you currently have open — much like the calculator and note-taking functions of the Galaxy Tab 10.1. From the press release it shows a calculator, browser and a remote control being used as “Small Apps”.

Has anyone read any reviews about the Tablet P? I can’t see that selling well.
