If you own a HTC One X and have experience irregular multitasking (ie. apps being killed when you switch to another app) you’re not alone. The One X community is up-in-arms at HTC as to why it is happening and if there’s a “fix” coming for it. Turns out HTC think it’s perfectly normal behaviour, but will look into people’s complaints to see if they can improve it.
An obvious reason behind the One X (or Sense UI) killing some apps as they are pushed into the background is to save battery life — if there’s nothing to run in the background there’s plenty more gas left in the tank. The One X has very, very impressive battery life and it’s clear by HTC’s statement that they don’t want that to change.
HTC is aware of some questions in the enthusiast community about how the HTC One X handles multitasking and memory management for background apps. We value the community’s input and are always looking for ways to enhance customers’ experience with our devices. That said, right now multitasking is operating normally according to our custom memory management specifications which balance core ICS features with a consistent HTC Sense experience.
If you’re still not 100% sure what the issue is, this HTC One X user put together a video showing the evident killing of our favourite app, Pulse, as it is pushed to the background.
The apps still load almost instantly, I think that’s a fair compromise for some extra battery life.
I got one a week ago (world version) and the battery was crap, but is noticeably better after 2 updates.

Read: An obvious reason for the One X killing some apps is because HTC HAD to stick in their bloated Sense UI which eats RAM like there’s no tomorrow.

Yes It would be good if the battery life of the One X could be clarified.
From what i remember there was initially a bug that caused battery drain but apparently that was fixed with an update. This might explain the initial reports of bad battery life, but i dont know for sure.
Is this HTC’s follow-up to their earlier claim that “users want slimmer devices, not bigger batteries herp derp”?
THIS PHONE IS GARBAGE IT IS A SET UP BY H T C THIS US VERSION IS SO THEY CAN CONTROL ON THE US PEOPLE EVERYWHERE ELSE THIS PHONE IS BAD ASS.
