We’ve become fans of the US photography site Photojojo in the last few weeks – they’ve got a number of neat products on the site that let you have a bit of fun with your photography, and their customer service team is responsive and friendly.

One of our favourite product lines offered by them at the moment is their cellphone lens series (you’ll have to forgive the use of the word “cellphone”, they’re American), which offers small Fisheye, Telephoto, Wide Angle, Macro and Polarizing lenses that can be attached to your phone – you can change the way your phone’s camera sees the world!

Usually these lenses are attached via an adhesive magnetic ring that you stick to your phone around the camera, allowing you to swap lenses easily. It recently came to light however that the huge camera protruding from the back of the Nexus 5‘s is magnetised, and its polarity is compatible with Photojojo’s lenses.

Geoff has had two of Photojojo’s lenses for a couple of weeks – you’ll find a few samples below taken with his Nexus 5:

As you can see, there’s a few neat possibilities – start thinking about your next Instagram shot!

Each lens costs US $20 (except the Super Fisheye and Polarizer, which are $25), you can buy the lot (5 lenses) for US $79. One of the lenses might make a neat Secret Santa gift, or you could buy the whole set for the mobile photographer we all know.

Even if you don’t have a Nexus 5, you can still use these lenses – the adhesive magnetic ring is included, so you can attach them to your phone’s camera — you might need to be a little careful if you keep your phone in a case, though.

The best bit is that Photojojo has kindly given Ausdroid readers a discount code, good for a US $5 discount on orders of US $40. You can enter the code AUSDROID5 at checkout to receive your discount.

Photojojo has a bunch of other neat products on offer as well (not all of them are for your phone, too) – click here to start shopping.

Before discovering the Nexus One, Jason thought he didn't need a smartphone. Now he can't bear to be without his Android phone. Jason hails from Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane depending on his mood and how detailed a history you'd like. A web developer by day with an interest in consumer gadgets and electronics, he also enjoys reading comics and has a worryingly large collection of Transformers figures. He'd like to think he's a gamer, but his Wii has been in a box since he moved to Sydney, and his PlayStation Vita collection is quite lacking. Most mornings you'll find him tilting at various windmills on Twitter - follow @JM77 and say hi!

I had a macro lens for my HTC One but it doesn’t seem to work well with my Nexus 5. Main reason is that the magnetic rim moves the OIS sensor around when placed on the lens, which kind of results in blurry images.

Imagine how insanely good these lenses will be when coupled with RAW capture functionality of an updated Nexus 5. And the price! This is wild.
