Optus has commenced the rollout of Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) to its users of the HTC One handset, just shy of two weeks after Vodafone users started to receive the update on their handsets.
Users, such as Ausdroid reader Myles Harris, received the update notification last night. The update, weighing in at 681.51mb, brings the HTC One on Optus up to version 3.63.980.2, and includes the following updates:
- Android 4.3 and HTC Sense 5.5
- Video highlights improvements
- Updated interface
- Soundtrack support for videos
- Blinkfeed improvements
- Access recommended news from your social networks
- and more
Given the size of the update, make sure you’re on WiFi with plenty of time available, and let us know how you find the update to Android 4.3.

Got the update yesterday for VM. It had a preupdate update before the big one.
A couple things of note
– Previously you could customize the lockscreen in personalize with calendar etc, now it’s reallocated to security.
– You can add side widgets in the lockscreen (a select few)
– The update seems to have turned on shutter sound
– APN settings vanished
– Blinkfeed can be turned off entirely (yay)
– Battery drains faster
Other than that. It seems mostly the same.
I downloaded it last night (Virgin Mobile). Data connection stopped working, but that was easy fixed with updating APN settings. So far, the only differences I’m noticing is the new quick switching between user profiles available from the taskbar, but most importantly my phone is feels faster and snappier today:)
+1 on all counts. Haven’t played around with new features though.
Noticed a new NFC On logo in the notification bar.
Oh, and BlinkFeed is now functional enough I might ACTUALLY use it!
