ZTE yesterday announced a new 4G/LTE Hotspot (WiFi device) that is also an Android powered full HD 1080p projector that also packs a 4″ screen onto it.

The “Projector Hotspot” — which ZTE is calling the device — can connect up to eight users at anytime, and while being able to access 4G/LTE services it also projects up to 120-inch images and video from a variety of convenient inputs.

The full list of specs include:

  • 4.0” Capacitive touch 800×480 WVGA
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
  • HDMI Port
  • Bluetooth
  • 5000mAh battery
  • Android 4.2 Jelly Bean

ZTE is touting the device as the “world’s first all-in-one Wi-Fi hotspot and portable projector.” Mr. Lixin Cheng, Chairman and CEO, ZTE USA said:

The new Projector Hotspot is a prime example of new technology we’ve developed based on our success in smartphones. ZTE devotes 10 percent of its profits to R&D so that we can continue to produce a range of high-performance consumer electronics just like this new device.

ZTE announced availability of the Projector Hotspot in the US during 2014, although no exact timeframe was given and there is no word if the device will even come down to our shores here. In saying that I must say it certainly is a cool device, and one that could get some traction here.

We will however endeavour to find out if or when the device may come down to Australia, so watch this space for more.

What do you think of the ZTE Projector Hotspot? Would you consider buying one if and when it came here to Australia? We would like to hear your thoughts below

I’d love one of these, mainly for the projector.

I like the idea, a lot. I’m now curious as to what CPU, GPU,RAM and ROM it has, and whether or not it has a microSD slot.
