Although Wi-Fi versions of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S will be launching in retailers on the 14th of July, the LTE versions of the tablet won’t arrive here until later this year. When they do, you’ll be able to pick-up one of them from Telstra, which will be nicely enabled to work on their upcoming 700MHz LTE network.
The Galaxy Tab S 10.5, will have the ‘honour’ of being the first APT700MHz capable 4G tablet to launch on the Telstra Mobile Network – one of the largest in Australia. Telstra is building out the 700MHz network into regional areas as well as in-building coverage to improve speeds and capactiy.
Although there’s no plans or pricing available yet, there’s also no 700MHz spectrum live at this point, with the network due to go live in early 2015, when their license is finally live. The specs given for the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 does also support the 1800MHz network which is the current default LTE network for Telstra, so there’s no problems there.
