Asus has kicked off the biggest electronics show in our region – Computex – a little early, announcing their second generation Android Wear watch, the ZenWatch 2.

The ZenWatch 2 is again going for style, but this time around comes in a few more options, with Asus advising the ZenWatch 2 will be available in ‘two sizes and three stainless-steel case colors, with 18 different strap material and color combinations’. The ZenWatch 2 also now comes with a ‘digital crown’ which Asus says will enhance the user experience.

The watch comes with a variety of different band options, in Rubber, Metal and Leather, with Blue, Orange, Red, and Taupe colours available for rubber, while the leather will come in Khaki, Brown, Gray, Blue, and Orange. Finally, the stainless steel link band, will come in Silver, Gunmetal or Rose Gold colours. If that’s not enough, you will also be able to grab a Swarovski crystal embossed band.

The ZenWatch 2 is also IP67 compliant, meaning you should be able to go for a swim with no issues.

In terms of usability, all the features from the original ZenWatch will return, with Remote Camera available, as well as the ‘Wellness’ options and FoneHelper apps as well.

There’s been no announcements from Asus Australia regarding availability of the ZenWatch 2 on our shores, but with the original ZenWatch not launching here until late March, we don’t expect the 2nd Gen Android Wear watch from Asus to make it here any time soon.

It looks more like a button rather than crown, that bezel…..

It’s not a crown, it’s a button as per Android authority video, this is what happens when writers predict and make fake news abt hardware :p
