Chances are when you were a kid you had a blow up Globe; I know I did. Google has released a nice little change to Google Maps recently that means when you zoom out – and I mean way out – no longer is the world flat like our ancestors used to believe. Rather, the map rounds out and eventually transforms into a smooth 3D globe, as shown above.

It’s pretty simple to use and it looks really good too. Just head to Google Maps on your computer (it doesn’t work on mobile devices yet) and just zoom all the way out. Take a look at our little walkthrough video below:

It’s a small change, but it looks amazing. I think you’ll agree.
