Far from being a simple streaming service, Netflix delivers content to be enjoyed on the postage-stamp sized screen of your smartphone, all the way up to 4K content to blow your mind on the big screen.

A major determinant of precisely what content you can see, or rather, the quality of it is whether Netflix has certified your device for various levels of quality. It appears that Google’s latest smartphones – the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL – have just been so certified for HDR quality streaming, according to reports to Android Police.

While the two Pixel 3s do not appear on Netflix’ list of HDR certified devices just yet, Android Police reports that many US-based Pixel 3 customers are seeing the feature on their phones today. This makes it most likely that we’ll see it here in Australia fairly quickly, too.

If you’ve got a Pixel 3 and use Netflix, why not check it out and see if you can see HDR content?
