Bose are well known for their high end speakers and headphones and although they were one of the first companies to release headphones with Google Assistant built in their speakers have lacked such functionality, until now.
Bose are pushing out automatic software updates to all of their existing smart speakers and soundbars which will enable Google Assistant on every single one of them. With the new update you can expect the Bose smart speakers and soundbars to fully support all Google Assistant functions including Casting music to it.
Alongside the new software update and added functionality Bose have also announced a new smart speaker to the Australian market. Joining the larger Bose Home Speaker 500 in the smart speaker lineup, the new Home Speaker 300 is a small speaker that is sure to pack a large sound.
With pre-orders open now and the speaker available from August 15 the Bose Home Speaker 300 is just 6 inches tall, 5.6 inches wide and 4 inches deep. According to Bose it will deliver a powerful bass with true 360 degree sound unlike conventional speakers which deliver a narrower beam of audio.
With a good looking aluminium design it is compatible with all other Bose smart speakers with multi-room listening. Retailing for AUD$399.95 is will hopefully deliver on its promise of an amazing sound in a small package. From what we know of Bose and the sound quality of their devices we expect it will.

According to Bose’s FAQ chromecast is not supported
