OPPO Australia has today launched it latest A series device to the Australian marketplace, with the A52, a mid to entry level device available for $299.

The OPPO A52 has been designed with a 3D quad-curve body along with a 6.4-inch LTPS HD display with 5000mAh battery with support for 18W Fast Charge which can power the A52 from 0 to 50% in just 45 minutes. It is also powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset and comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB of onboard storage — oh and it includes a headphone jack!

Photography is a big selling point for the A52 with the device coming with an AI quad camera setup which includes a 12MP main camera along with a 8MP Ultra Wide Angle Lens. There is also a single 8MP front-facing camera available.

The A52 comes with OPPO’s Ultra Night Mode 2.0 that enables colours and features within photos taken in low light to stand out. There is also AI beautification technology along with anti-shake video performance thanks to Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS).

Michael Tran, MD at OPPO Australia, has stated that the A52:

The A52 is the latest device to join OPPO’s A-series, giving Aussies a quality smartphone at an affordable price, with all the features users want in a phone. At OPPO we put the user first and the A52 is an extension of this, providing an immersive user experience like no other

Users can enjoy a high quality picture display that can adjust to certain light scenarios, a long lasting battery and AI quad camera setup with video stability so users can shoot on the go. Premium doesn’t have to be pricey and the A52 is a perfect example of this.

Like many other OPPO devices, the A52 utilises Android 10 topped with OPPO’s ColorOS version 7.1. There is also OPPO’s performance boost engine, Hyperboost, which allows apps and games to respond quicker and the entire system to run more smoothly.

The fingerprint sensor has also moved to the side to enabling users to be able to handle the phone in one hand but also making it more convenient for users and allows for a faster recognition rate.

The OPPO A52 is available from JB Hi-Fi and from Officeworks, Kogan, Bing Lee, The Good Guys, MobileCiti, and Woolworths Mobile from May 11 for $299. It will be available in 2 colours – Twilight Black and Stream White.

If you are looking for a decent entry-level phone why not check it out.

not sure if you are new here but we have taken OPPO to task several times in the past and they have actually taken our feedback and criticisms on board and fed back to their head office for product improvements. Even after this savaging they continue to include us in their releases.

I guess it depends on which site you read regarding any Chinese vendor. There is one site that is notorious for sledging Chinese manufacturers out of hand (and also well known for plagiarism).

Looks like a good entry level phone, but I am looking forward to seeing the find x 2 pro on the shelves.

Damn that’s cheap. Great back up phone or a phone for a child.
