Some updates to Google’s services are of high importance, heralding a big leap forward in usability, features or automation. Others are minor, like changing the old blue arrow icon in Maps, which is what we have in today’s update.

If you have been waiting for Google to let you customise your ride in Google Maps, wait no longer – now you’ve got 4 choices!

You can now tap on the blue arrow in Google Maps when you are navigating and choose between three new icons and the original blue arrow.

There’s a Red sedan, a Yellow SUV or a Green Pick-up/ Ute. Not the most diverse set of choices, but this is a relatively inconsequential update. Still missing are Jurassic Park Jeeps.

The update was previously seen in the Beta app but should now be more widely available, so if you’re interested then you can change things up a bit. Let us know what you swapped to below.

Hopefully there’s more transport mode icons in the works, like disabled, bicycles, walking, and public transport.

Duncan, there’s more than enough unblurred detail remaining to make out one of the street names, in the article pic. The black text, immediately to the left of the right headlight on the vehicle on the map.

The Orca would be a nice option too
