Friendie is a newcomer to the audio race: founded in 2015 in regional Victoria. In that time they’ve already designed and delivered a significant device range to consumers. Everything from speakers and sunglasses (audio capable of course) through to headphones and their latest headphones, the AIR DUO is moving with the times.

As we’ve endured 2020, we’re seeing people far less but speaking to many more remotely. The AIR DUO is a hybrid between headphones and a headset that really does blur the line between work and play. It offers the comfort and sound quality of over-ear sound, a detachable microphone arm for an improved call or stream audio. There’s plenty in the specs to like:

  • Battery: Talk or Music Playback – up to 54 hours, 300 hours standby
  • Comprehensive controls for calls and audio playback
  • A broad audio range with built-in equalisers
  • <

  • Wired or wireless (Bluetooth 4.1) connectivity
  • 30mm vibration motor for big bass and game immersion

The biggest omission we can see in terms of specs is the lack of noise-cancelling and a MicroUSB charging cable. When you’re paying $350.00 that could be significant for some buyers. Friendie products are available directly from friendie.com.au or via online retailers including The Iconic, Myer, Amazon, Catch and Red Balloon. The big upside is that they are an Australian company, something we always try to support.

Our team will be reporting back on how good they perform in the real world in the coming weeks as we have a review unit on the way. What would you like to know when we get these on our ears?
