Outside of a variety of Android Wear devices on the market, there’s relatively few hardware options that hook into Google’s fitness platform: Google Fit. Overnight though, Intel-owned fitness tracker Basis has added support for Google Fit, meaning owners can now log their data into Google’s platform.

Google Fit isn’t the only platform that Basis is embracing though, while the Basis Peak Android app, has now been updated to support Google Fit, the iOS app has been updated to support Apple’s Healthkit platform. The new update means that you can now view your heart rate, calories, activities can now be viewed in Google Fit, while you can now import weight data from Google Fit.

The update is all well and good, however access to the hardware through the official store and even their listing on Amazon is still limited to US only availability. Though this isn’t any barrier in a world filled with shipping forwarders.

If you’ve previously imported a Basis Peak you should be able to update your app now to take advantage of the new functionality.

The app was not found in the store. 🙁
