live-cases
After launching in the US last year, Google has finally brought their range of interactive, customisable Live Cases to Australia.

Live Cases are available for the Nexus 5X and 6P as well as the new Pixel and Pixel XL phones launching today. Live Cases offer a customisable option in three flavours – Artworks, Photos or Maps – which print a design, photo or map of your choice on the rear. Live Cases feature an interactive NFC button built-in that links with an app on your phone that lets you perform functions when you press it. Live Cases also get an interactive wallpaper you can update using the app and interactive button.

The three cases on offer include the Maps and Photos cases which Google launched last year which let you put a map or a favourite photo on the back of your case, as well as new Artworks cases. Artworks cases feature designs from the likes of Astronaut Chris Hadfield, Fine art photographer Gray Malin, LA Based art collaborative Friends with Me, and even Australian digital artist Justin Maller.

Live Cases start at $60AUD to order in Australia and you can start designing yours today on the Google Store.

At least SOME cases should’ve been ready to order on the same day the phones are up for preorder. Not really happy about this. I’m gonna have to go naked with my phone until they’re ready – I better not damage this thing with its glass rear.

I was so excited about ordering mine until I got to $60… I may have to think on this a little.
