Chromecast 2nd Bday
At $49, the Chromecast is an amazingly cheap device, which over the course of two years has become a major player in the internet and local streaming video game. In the US, Google is celebrating the birthday with a free video rental for Chromecast owners, as well as an offer to save $15 when you purchase 2 or more from the Google Store.

At home, here in Australia however, we’re not really seeing anything from Google with regards to a second birthday. If you check your Chromecast offers, you’ll see the same three we’ve had for a while now. The current offers include a 90 Day Google Play Music All Access trial (only valid for new users), a 30 Day CrunchyRoll Premium trial and of course the 90 Day Deezer Premium+ offer from a couple of weeks ago.

If you want to check your Google Chromecast offers, you can do so by loading up the Chromecast.com/offers link in your browser while you’re connected to the Wi-Fi network your Chromecast is on, or opening the Chromecast app on your Android device, selecting your Chromecast and then selecting ‘Check Chromecast offers’ from the overflow menu.

So, it’s a big Happy Birthday to Chromecast, we still love you even if there’s no extra presents on offer today. Don’t forget about us, we would love to see that Ethernet adapter made available outside the US at some stage though.
