Overnight, fashion brand Fossil has finally announced their Intel powered Android Wear watch alongside a range of other fitness trackers in a line they’ve dubbed their ‘Q’ series.

There’s four devices that have been announced, two of the devices – the Q Reveler and Q Dreamer – are more fitness bands, while a third, the Q Grant is a traditional time piece with smart activity tracking features. But it’s the Q Founder that is interesting to Android Wear aficionados.

The Q Founder will cost US$275 when it’s released online and in retail stores on October 25th. The watch (and all the Fossil Q line) is powered by an Intel processor and is compatible with both Android (4.3+) as well as iOS (iPhone 5+ and 8.2+).

Fossil describes the Q Founder as ‘A powerhouse packed into an elegant package’ and from the images supplied, we agree. It’s a good looking watch, that’s going to compete with the other higher end circular Android Wear offerings available, like the Huawei Watch and the Moto 360 gen 2. As you can tell, the watch itself is round, will come in His and Hers styles, with ‘a range of strap colours and materials’ available.

There’s not much more known about the watch, but Fossil has announced three apps which will power the connection to the Q Founder. These include:

Q Activity: This built-in fitness tracker lets you know how many calories you burned and also provides results in a curious way to make your activities a bit more fun. No need to ditch your favorite fitness apps; this tracker can connect seamlessly to Google Fit™, Health, UP by Jawbone® and UA Record™ by Under Armour.

Q Notifications: These notifications are your cue that a social media update, important call or meeting awaits. Filter by just the contacts or apps you care about – or get them all. It’s up to you.

Q Curiosity: Cue your curiosity! These notifications alert you that it’s time to break free from routine, look from a different angle or try something new in your community. These activities will ignite a new perspective, open up your creativity and leave your brain feeling refreshed.

Availability in Australia isn’t guaranteed, though the site does say they ship here, but we’ll be reaching out to Fossil to try and find out what their international plans are for the Fossil Q line.

I have a work provided iPhone 6 and my personal HTC One M8s. Will this allow me to connect to both phones simultaneously? I carry both phone all the time and it would be nice if one watch could connect to more than one phone simultaneously. Or am I asking for too much?

Although not pictured in the article, other sources indicate that the Q Founder will have a flat tire, just like the Moto 360

Looks pretty nice. Out of all the smartwatches out there, this definitely looks the most traditional. I wonder if Australia will get it?

Considering is pretty established in Australia, I’d say it’s a given. It’s all about when…
