We caught sight of a tease from Asus earlier in the week suggesting that the greatly anticipated Asus ZenWatch 3 may be coming to Australia soon, rather than the original Q1 2017 we were expecting. It’s a tease no more, Asus has confirmed with us today that the ZenWatch is indeed heading to Australia and it will arrive in ten days, on November 25.
The ZenWatch 3 will retail for $449 AUD initially via Asus’s online store (link not yet up), at present Australia only seems to be getting the Gunmetal and Brown leather variant with no sign or mention of the Silver and Rose Gold options being mentioned.
The ZenWatch 3 is one of the most exciting, and admittedly only, Android Wear devices to come out this year. With a 1.39″ fully circular AMOLED display, Snapdragon Wear 2100 and the standard 512 MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage there is no better equipped Wear device on the market.

There’s mention of a replacement rubber watch band, but as yet that’s the only accessory it seems Australia is getting. We’ve asked about the portable battery charger and will let you know what we find out.
We’ve a review unit on the way, and whoever is the last alive at Ausdroid will get to review it. To say we’re all excited by the prospect of what the ZenWatch 3 offers would be an understatement.

“there is no better equipped Wear device on the market”… Maybe, but the Samsung Gear 3 ha5d much better specs, though it’s not Android and is admittedly more expensive. What is it about the Asus that’s getting you guys so excited?
Nothing has come out yet to wow me enough from upgrading from my original Moto360.
I’d like better battery life from a newer, larger battery & more efficient processor but that’s about it so unless it dies I’ll be hanging on to it for awhile longer.
My original is a pile of s#@$ after 18 months it now shuts down anywhere between 95% and 40% of power, seems anything can cause a power surge which shuts it down and it won’t start again. This is a common error and a new battery fixes it.
Simply put these devices are just not worth it. Motorola believes 12 months is more than fair for the life of the device, I do not agree so this is my first and last smart watch, the product type is pretty much a failure.
And… Once again Australians get ripped off! $449 is a lot more than the US$229 being offered to the Americans! I was considering the Asus but now… Pass!!
Wanted to wait and see what Google will offer but this is tempting.
has fast charge which is interesting, but i would wait till next year so Android 2.0 will be released and this price will come down by then
