As owner of a number of fashion brands, the Fossil Group is a power house when it comes to pushing out Wear OS devices and it looks like another is on the way with a watch called the ‘Q Sport’ heading through the FCC.

A Fossil watch with the model # DW9 has arrived at the FCC, but it’s the label information calling it the Fossil Q Sport. There’s actually two models, the DW9F1 (Q Sport 41) and DW9F2 (Q Sport 43) which shows there’s at least one new model inbound. The watches are definitely running Wear OS as can be seen in the FCC Label information page

The test reports from the FCC lists 2.4GHz 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC on-board, though no LTE or 3G cellular bands have been listed for testing.

Spec wise, the Fossil Q Sport would likely be a 4th generation watch on-par with the recently released Q Explorist HR and Q Venture HR. Those watches introduced Heartrate sensors, NFC and GPS to the watches, but with the ‘Q Sport’ monniker perhaps some improved waterproofing towards a 5 ATM depth such as found on their previous sports focused model the Q Control could be incoming.

It’s a little too soon to hope the watch is using the recently announced Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset, but nothing is off the table until Fossil announces the watch.
