Samsung announced an expansion of its Galaxy Watch Active 2 range at its Unpacked event in New York this morning, launching a new Under Armour Edition of the watch.

Samsung’s been partnering with Under Armour on health and fitness technology for a little while now, bringing the company’s technology to multiple products.

The Watch Active 2 provides an always-on running coach, and 6 months of service from MapMy Run which will also offer audio cues over connected Bluetooth earphones. Under Armour’s HOVR footwear

The Galaxy Watch Active 2 Under Armour Edition (phew, that’s almost a paragraph in itself!) Congress in two sizes – 40mm and 44mm – and has a grey aluminium body with fluoroelastomer straps (grey for 40mm, black for 44mm). They’re standard 20mm straps, so you can swap them for any other compatible strap on the market.

We did note that Samsung was only launching Stainless Steel variants of the main Watch Active 2 here – this might be why.

While this edition of the watch is coming to Australia, it sounds like it won’t be coming with the rest of the local launch devices – Samsung hasn’t announced local pricing and availability it yet, but will let us know closer to launch.
