ZenPad 3S 10
IFA 2016 is getting off to a bang on press day, with Asus announcing a couple of new products starting with the Asus ZenPad 3S 10 tablet.

The ZenPad 3S 10 is a monster when it comes to design, and audio/visual experience. Firstly, the design has been refined to be as thin and light as possible with a metallic body with diamond cut detailing on the tablet that’s good to look at and hold.

Asus has also gotten a better screen experience in the tablet body with a tiny 5.32mm bezel around the edge of the screen and a 78% body/screen ratio – their best yet. The Audio/Video experience or as they call it, their Visual/Sonic Master experience has been upgraded to make video and audio come to life, the video has better contrast on the 2K resolution display and the Audio side includes 5x magnet speakers capable of producing 7.1 channel virtual surround sound with DTS-X Headphone and DTS HD sound.

The tablet includes a fingerprint scanner on the bottom which appears to also have capacative buttons either side.

Specs? Well, it looks pretty good although there’s always some residual hesitance for tablets sporting the Mediatek processors:

  • 9.7-inch QXGA 2048×1536 resolution display
  • Hexa-core MediaTek MT8176 SoC
  • 4GB of RAM
  • 64GB onboard storage (microSD support up to 128 GB)
  • 8MP Rear Camera
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • 5,900 mAh battery
  • 240.5×163.7×5.8-7.16mm @ 430g
  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow

Asus is also including some games with the ZenPad 3S 10 with SIMCity BuildIt and Need for Speed No Limit pre-loaded on the tablet.

Availability hasn’t been announced for Australia, nor pricing, but Asus announced it will be available for €379 that’s about $561AUD. Stay tuned for Australian pricing, we’ll be reaching out to Asus Australia for more information.
