Sony’s ‘PlayStation Certified‘ Tablet S will go on sale tomorrow in its Sony Centre stores as well as other certified retailers — according to their website, they include Big W, KMART, Retravision and Good Guys. The Tablet S has been available for pre-order exclusively through the online Sony Store since around the 29th of September. Those online orders are expected to be delivered on the 31st of October.
The 16GB Wi-Fi only Tablet S will set you back a reasonable $579, whereas the 32GB Wi-Fi only Tablet S will set you back $689. Apparently an extra 16GB of memory costs $110. If you’re a member of Commonwealth Awards, you can pick one up via redemption.
The Tablet S certainly doesn’t hold back on specs. It has a 1GHz Dual-Core CPU running Android 3.2, a 9.4-inch 1280×800 (160ppi) Display, 1GB of RAM, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi b/g/n, built-in stereo speakers, and more.
Good Gear Guide have also pointed out that Sony plans on releasing the 3G versions of the Tablet S early next year.. when this device might not be relevant anymore.
Does anyone have one of these? what are they like? the universal remote feature looks pretty good.
so they decide to release a tablet with yesterdays CPU at higher prices days before the next generation tablets launch with the new quad cores? hmmmm i see failure on the horizon
