Google has released an update to the Google Maps app with Android Wear compatibility specifically called-out in the changelog.

Demonstrated during Google’s I/O Keynote on Thursday morning, Android Wear devices can integrate with Google Maps to perform searches and navigation. The updated version is of the app is v8.1.1.

Google I/O attendees will have already picked up their Android Wear devices, so this release is really aimed at them while the rest of us will be waiting until early July for our watches to be delivered.
