HTC last night unveiled the All New HTC One (M8) and of course the next thing you want to know about is the accessories.

HTC has announced the Dot Case, which was teased on Twitter prior to the release by @Evleaks. The Dot Case is a retro looking Flip Cover for the phone, the case will be available in five colours – Warm Black, Imperial Blue, Orange Popsicle, Atlantis and Baton Rouge.

The case is mentioned in the official PR release with the description :

HTC Dot View case – protect your phone with retro flair
Taking that sixth sense functionality one step further you can extend Motion Launch by double tapping the dot view case, in addition to checking the time, weather, new texts, emails and calls – without touching or revealing the screen. An outstanding phone deserves a case that protects and extends its innovative design and industry-leading functionality. Optimised by HTC Sense 6, the new HTC Dot View phone case protects the screen, whilst displaying notifications and interactions in a retro, dot-matrix style.

The dimensions of the case – 180 x 73 x 12.6 mm allow it to adhere securely to the All New HTC One (M8) and give it ‘Full phone protection on the front, back and corners’.

What wasn’t announced was the bumper accessory which @evleaks showed off prior to launch :

As usual with most HTC Accessories, we expect to see the Dot Case and if ever released the bumpers, on the ‘Official HTC Accessory store’ – HTCAccessories.com.au, when the phone officially hits the Australian market.

Is the M8 the same physical size as the M7? If yes, will this cover work with a M7?

Satwik Kamatmehbro

no, the m8 is longer and wider than the m7 🙂

Thank you for the information. Another way of companies forcing an upgrade. Never mind though, I have promised myself that I will not use HTC again. But I detest Samsung just as much. So I will have to settle for Sony or LG. But no more HTC for me.
