In-ear audio is all the rage of late – many users don’t want to wear big, over-ear headphones but still want great sound. The continual advancement of personal audio technology has been a boon for this, and we’re now seeing multiple products come to market with big battery life and extra technology like noise cancelling.

Australian-owned Audiofly has just announced the AFT2 true wireless buds, delivering a broad sound range and massive battery life.

Let’s start with the price because it’s pretty enticing, the AFT2 will set you back $199.99 making it competitive in a tight market. There’s also an impressive list of features offered including:

  • 35 Hours of Battery life (10h + 25h with charging case)
  • Qualcomm cVc Noise Cancelling Technology
  • Bluetooth 5.0 Dual Mode
  • 6mm Dynamic Driver – delivering a cleaner, broader sound range
  • IPX-5 water resistance
  • Available in a range of colours – Gum Leaf, Sunset, Sand and Granite

It’s worth noting that Qualcomm’s “cVc” noise cancelling technology is an algorithmic solution that is designed to make it easier for callers to hear your voice. It’s different to Active Noise Cancellation technology found in other products which is intended for listening to your own audio.

As a proud Aussie, I adore the fact that Audiofly is Australian-owned, with products designed and engineered on our own shores (they’re headquartered in Perth).

Ausdroid has an AFT2 unit on the way so we can check out the quality for ourselves and put the big battery life claims to the test – we’ll report back soon.
