Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are now official and with a March 11 launch date coming up fast, it’s time to check out what cases and accessories you’ll be getting for your new phone.

The Samsung website has updated with a list of accessories offering a brief description and pictures, but unfortunately no pricing. There was a leak of pricing for accessories prior to the launch. so it may be good to check that out for at least indicative pricing.

Starting at the top, Samsung will be offering cases, lots and lots of cases. First case is the LED View Cover, which Samsung says

The LED lights animate to give you a lot of essential information including notifications. You can also turn off alarms and answer phone calls by swiping the cover. And with the special icons you assigned to your contacts, you’ll know who’s calling.

The case appears to be available in the silver, gold and black colour options to match your new phone.

Next up, Samsung has their Clear View Cover, which they describe as:

A protective cover that accentuates Galaxy S7 and S7 edge’s refined lines. And with simple swipes on the translucent cover, you can do a variety of actions from handling incoming calls to controlling your music.

The Samsung S View cover makes a return in the latest release, with the familiar window that should take maximum advantage of the Always On display. Samsung describes the case thusly

Slip your Galaxy S7 or S7 edge into this elegantly matte case. With the cover closed, the display’s turned off but you get a customized screen that lets you respond to calls, play music and take photos.

For those wanting a more premium look, the Leather Cover should scratch that itch.

Perfectly tailored to your Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, the quality Leather Cover makes an elegant statement and cuts a sharp figure. It also offers a firm grip that feels just right.

It’s available in black, black or black.

While it doesn’t appear to be leather, the Flip Wallet offers a lot of functionality and with Samsung (and Android Pay) possibly launching soon, the need for a wallet could soon be gone. Slip your license in and you’re good to go.

Sleek and functional is the Flip Wallet’s mandate. Your essential card sits safe inside the cover as the case wraps itself firmly around the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge with a touch of class and a sense of duty.

Lastly, Samsung has the minimalist Clear Cover which should give you some protection for your phone while still showing the design of the phone off to your friends.

Built with the same design language as the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, this case provides a tailored, sleek silhouette that extends a dependable layer of protection.

Into the more interesting accessories, Samsung has brought the Keyboard cover to the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. We first saw the Keyboard cover on the Note 5/Galaxy S6 Edge+ launch, but the cover itself never arrived in Australia, hopefully this one does and we can finally try it out.

Nothing beats typing on an actual keyboard. Snap it on to the front and the screen automatically resizes itself. When you’re done, it neatly fits on the back.

Wireless charging has been a big feature on the Galaxy S line since the S6 hit the market, this year Samsung has improved the wireless charger allowing it to be flipped upright so you can see the screen.

Even without the cable, charging is fast. All you have to do is place your Galaxy S7 or S7 edge on the stand. And with the upright angle, you can continue using your phone even when it’s being charged.

Of course if you can’t get to a charger it’s good to have a backup. Samsung is offering two options this year, the Battery pack, which comes in two sizes – 10200mAh and 5100mAh.

Finally, the Battery backpack is real and it looks useful. It’s designed specifically for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.

Designed precisely for Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, the Backpack extends battery life in the most effortlessly native way. You can carry on using your phone as usual including taking photos and listening to music. No need to take it off, no need for extra connectors. A power status indicator lets you know how much charge you have left.
