As announced at their event this week, Google has updated their Photos app for Android with Chromecast support again and it’s rolling out to users right now.

The update to version 1.6 brings Chromecast support as well as the ability to share animations to WhatsApp. The feature to merge people into one entity is now live for US residents – although if you check this How-To out, you should be able to get that working here too. The merge feature also lets you search for people or do a multi-layered search for people, place and a thing to find that day at that place with that person doing that thing.

Google has also baked in slow motion speed adjustment support for the upcoming Nexus 5X and 6P in the Photos app.

If you want to grab the app, head over to Google Play where the update should be waiting, but if you’re not presented with an option to update immediately there’s always ways to grab it early.

Mucked around with this today, mostly good but the videos were very laggy and sometimes didn’t even work
