Smartband Talk and SmartWatch 3
When Sony announced the long awaited Smartwatch 3, and it’s lower end non-Android Wear Smartband Talk fitness band were finally available in Australia last month, they made a surprise announcement that you’d be able to grab them from Telstra as well as from selected retailers. Initial, and subsequent checks with stores proved that despite the announcement, Telstra and their staff had no knowledge of the wearables. That’s now changed, with Telstra finally acknowledging the devices on their exchange blog.

The wearables are now available from Telstra stores, with Telstra recommending you ‘Check with your local Telstra store to find out about stock availability’. Telstra are also selling the ‘Smart’ Bluetooth sports headset, the Jabra Pulse, which includes an in-built heart rate monitor for $249. But for the wearables, as well as selling outright you can also purchase them on a plan.

  • Smartband Talk: $5/mth plus $79 upfront on Accessory Repayment Option for 24 months (Minimum cost $199) when you connect to a Mobile Accelerate Plan or $199 RRP outright.
  • Smartwatch 3: $10/mth plus $59 upfront on Accessory Repayment Option for 24 months (Minimum cost $299) when you connect to a Mobile Accelerate Plan or $299 RRP outright.
  • Smartband: Outright purchase only $99

If you’re wanting a new Sony Smartwatch 3, head on into your local Telstra store and ask about stock.
