Skype has announced via their blog that it latest update includes Android Wear support, enabling users to now use its app directly from your wrist.

The latest update, which brings the version of its messaging app to version 6.4, enables you to not only read but also reply to new messages on your wrist using pre-written responses or via the voice-to-text feature. Furthermore you can also reply with emojis as well.

The update also enables you to take calls from Skype directly from your Android Wear smartwatch, however this will direct you to obviously talk to people on Skype from your smartphone – not your smartwatch.

Skype has specifically announced that the following Android Wear smartwatches support the new update directly, such as the Moto 360, Huawei Watch, LG Watch Urbane and the ASUS ZenWatch – but it installed on a G Watch R and G Watch with no issues, so have at it.

The update is rolling out to users, however you can head over to Google Play to see if the update is available to you or if you wish to try out the newest Skype app and its newest features for yourself.
