Sony’s IFA press conference next week promises some new phones with the Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 compact rumoured to make an appearance. To spoil the surprise a bit, a press render for the XZ1, as well as pricing for both phones has shown up overnight.
The press render of the XZ1 shows a familiar rectangular design with those large top and bottom bezels we’ve come to know and love. Sony has stuck with the same button placement from previous models with a volume rocker, mid-mount power button which appears to be a fingerprint sensor again and a dedicated shutter button. It’s shown off here in pink and black, but knowing Sony we’ll get something a little more outrageous as well.

So, how much will you pay for the new phones? Well, Roland Quandt from WinFuture.de has tweeted out the UK pricing courtesy of Amazon who apparently listed the phones briefly.
Sony Xperia XZ1: 599 GBP. XZ1 Compact: 499 GBP
Amazon listings (soon):

At £499 (just over $800AUD) for the XZ1 Compact and £599 (almost $970AUD) for the XZ1 the pricing isn’t bad for what should be some premium level phones. Fingers are crossed everywhere for an XZ1 Compact with identical specs, just a smaller screen.
We’ll know more about the XZ1 and XZ1 Compact after Sony’s press conference next week. The press conference can be streamed from the Sony Mobile website from 9PM AEST on the 31st of August.
