LG G2 Hi-Res
If you’re hoping for an earlier release in Australia of the LG G2 than the Optimus G, then you’re in luck, if you were hoping for a co-ordinated global launch then you may not be as happy.

According to LG Electronics’ CFO David Jung, who was interviewed by Korean News outlet – The Kyunghyang Shinmun – the release will be staggered. According to Mr Jung, the release will start in August with South Korea before launching in North America and Europe in September and finally to the all other regions in October.

Additionally he spoke of the buttons on the back of the unit, confirming that the power and volume buttons would be located on the back of the device. Hardware wise, the Snapdragon 800 CPU was raised again, as was the LTE-A compatability and improved battery efficiency that the Snapdragon 800 processor allows.

In another post from Pocketnow, the battery in the LG G2 has been shown off in a photo of the device sans back cover. The 2610mAh battery will be a good addition to device and with added efficiency from the Snapdragon 800 it could make for a device with decent battery life.

We can add this to the long list of specs that are rumoured for the LG G2, which currently stands at :

  • 5.2″ Full HD 1080P Display
  • Snapdragon 800 CPU
  • 2GB RAM
  • 13MP Rear Camera
  • 2610mAh Battery

We’ll know the full specs of the LG G2 for sure on the 7th of August, but for now it’s shaping up to be a pretty decent device and we look forward to receiving further information about a local launch here in Australia in the near future.

Class. Vienna Boys Choir and Bach ringtones.
This device for me seems to strike the right balance between size, cutting edge hardware and known software features.
I hope where I live it will be available as an outright purchase. Now that 4g is on offer off-plan on pre-paid at a reasonable cost.
