The Pokémon Go phenomenon may have slowed, but there are still dedicated trainers out there champing at the bit for more features, and more Pokémon to add to their Pokédex. Niantic Labs has announced both with the addition of more Pokémon and weather effects.
Over the next several weeks, Niantic will be adding in 50 more Pokémon from the Hoenn Region in the Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire video games including Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip and more. They will begin appearing ‘later this week’ with more being added incrementally to retain the eyeballs of keen Pokémon trainers.
To make the experience of catching the new Pokémon more fun, and enhance the experience of using older Pokémon Niantic is introducing weather effects. You’ll find more water related Pokémon like Mudkip on rainy days, or find effects from Pokémon like Charizard’s Fire Spin will improve on sunny days.
If you stopped playing Pokémon because you caught them all, it’s time to check back in and see what new ones you can see. Head over to Google Play and download it now.
