From today, tablet users browsing Google Play will be first greeted by the new Designed for Tablets section, to better highlight the apps and games that look great on tablets. Tablet users can still switch the view so they can see all apps or games if they choose.
Apps and games that don’t meet the Designed for Tablets criteria are marked as “Designed for phones” for users browsing the Play Store on their tablets. If you haven’t received the update yet don’t worry, as the roll out will be happening in stages.
Developers can check if their app is suitable by going to the Developers Console and check the tablet optimisation tips.
Have you received the Designed for Tablets Google Play update yet? What do you think of it? Let us know in the comments!
Yea noticed this when I was looking at an app and noticed the “designed for phones” title under the app name. 😮
