HI All, Got the new Samsung Tablet 2014 edition16gb wifi “non 4g version” from Harvey Norman with the octo core 4 big 4 small. Big brother to the SGNote3 fone. Similar great points EXCEPT !!!! Problems encountered thus far…… Phone boots twice at power-on. Slow charging. Sluggish performance compared to quad core SG note 3 phone. Samsungs NEW Video app struggles to display videos and stops after playing a few frames and you have to re-hit the play button to get it restarted. This video app struggles to show all videos “in play motion” grid mode when viewing large list… Read more »

The Samsung ex store in Melbourne doesn’t have any stock for sale over the counter (OTC).
They blame their head office for lack of stock to sell to customers.

Brian

So the Galaxy GEAR only works with the 4G version? that’s strange… I thought it was compatible with just the Bluetooth (Android 4.3 +). The price doesn’t seem too bad with just $50 difference between the iPad Air.

Michael Will

These are fairly pricey and I’m sure the price will drop very soon as the Tegra Note 7 is just now available for $200 US. Tegra just needs to release a note 10 before xmas.

Joshua Hill

Samsung are competing with Apple not Nvidia and their partners. A cheap 10″ tegra will make no difference to Samsung’s pricing.

Michael Will

You are comparing companies whereas I am comparing a product. The Galaxy Note has been different from the rest so far due to the excellent stylus, however now the processor for the Tegra Note 7 is hardly a slouch (1.8 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 4 (4 x Cortex A15)) AND comes with a great stylus so I expect it would actually make a dent in Samsung’s Note sales.

mrjayviper

you are comparing products. But Samsung is marketing the device against the iPads. Nvidia would probably has zero marketing especially in Oz.

Joshua Hill

As I read Ausdroid I’m well aware of the Tegra Tab’s specs. Unfortunately most people aren’t tech savvy or just don’t care. I still highly doubt that any Nvidia tablet will effect Samsung sales. For most people the choice is Apple or Samsung.

mrjayviper

damn at the price. definitely worth buying from amazon

spentan

I’m wondering why this may be the case? Amazon is showing US$549, plus tax, and shipping, so you’ll probably end up paying around US$600. Which means that for AUD $649, the 16GB wifi model isn’t that badly priced, especially considering that you’ll get local warranty.

Chances are, JB Hifi or someone will knock about 10% off for some sale or with some haggling, so I’d rather buy it locally

mrjayviper

oh I thought they are in the $450-$500 range in amazon

stephen taylor

I think Samsung and Apple would like everyone to just compare the two brands, but that’s what sheep do. I wouldn’t ever buy a closed wall brand such as Apple. I got the first Samsung note 10.1 on Telstra and I think its processors okay buts its stuck on only 4.1.2, mediocre screen and it’s external plastic frames cracked and brittle with a big hole on the right hand side after a gentle tap on a bus window that my Motorola Xoom’s steel bezel would’ve laughed at. My only other experience with mobile Samsung was an S1 with horrible battery.… Read more »
