It is not long now until Samsung will take to the stage in Barcelona and unveil their new flagship device and the hype is building. Today more details and rumours have emerged to encourage this hype-train even more.
Schematics for the Galaxy S9 and S9+ have been leaked on Twitter and while these things can often be wrong they seem to fit with everything else we have seen, heard and read about the Galaxy S9 and S9+.
As seen above the Galaxy S9 has a smaller camera/fingerprint sensor cutout on the rear than what the Galaxy S9+ does. This fits with what we have seen rumoured that the Galaxy S9 will only have the single lens while the S9+ will have a dual camera. The fingerprint sensors look the same size, as does the flash.
The front of both devices look the same with the bezels the same size and all the same camera and sensors located in the same position — obviously the Galaxy S9+ has the larger display though.
Overnight a well known leaker on Weibo has also posted some interesting information saying that “The Samsung UX division has designed several unique new interfaces to the Galaxy S9 that are not visible in any previous version” (translation courtesy of Google Translate).
While this does not tell us much it is not hard to imagine what these new UI elements will involve — AI. AI is the new big thing and everyone else has included in their new phones. Samsung are pushing hard for Bixby integration in all their products and for users to embrace it to improve it. It is highly likely that the new UI will include AI elements that involve Bixby.
The anticipation for this upcoming Samsung flagship series is slowly building and come late February Ausdroid will be at the announcement in Barcelona to give you all the local flavour on what will most likely be the best selling Android flagship of the year.
