In a very customer friendly move, smartphone manufacturer OPPO has today announced that their latest phones to launch in Australia, the OPPO R11s and R11s Plus will both include free screen repairs for the first six months.

To take advantage of the offer, you simply have to purchase an R11s or R11s Plus from any participating stores, which includes Vodafone, Optus or Virgin Mobile as well as JB HiFi, Woolworths, Officeworks, Retravision and Doresett Retail, Telechoice and Mobileciti.

If you have an issue with the screen that needs resolving you simply call Oppo on 1300 00 6776 (6776 = OPPO on the old T9 dialler – nice) to get a return authorisation and then send it to their Macquarie Park, Sydney based service centre. You will need to provide your proof of purchase and the IMEI of the phone to OPPO at the time, and you’re responsible for covering the post both ways.

There are a few riders that are attached to the free screen repairs such as if the damage is caused by liquid ingress, or it’s damaged caused to another part of the phone – so basically if the whole phone is damaged you can’t just get them to repair the whole lot on the basis the screen is damaged as well. You can check out all the terms and conditions in their support documentation on the website.

    Really

Does the new screen come with Oleophobic coating at all/ as the original doesn’t.

Doesn’t say specifically in the T&C’s but it’s likely it would be the same part as originally in the phone.
