OnePlus are taking giant steps in the smartphone industry year after year, and this year they are set to release their OnePlus 7. With it they are expected to release their next iteration in the notch solution, a pop-up camera.
Yesterday we saw renders of it leak, showing off a triple rear camera and a pop-up front-facing selfie camera. Now today a photo of it in-hand has appeared on Chinese social media site Weibo. The link to the image has since been removed but of course it has been saved many times before its removal.
The image shows the OnePlus OxygenOS screen for adding face data for their lightning fast face unlock and, at the same time, the front-facing camera popping up to capture said data. The bezels around the entire device are incredibly slim without a notch in sight.
Of course there is no way to verify the authenticity of this image, but even if it is fake (and it may well be, although it being removed suggests otherwise) it gives us another look at how the OnePlus 7 is expected to look when it arrives in mid May. It will be interesting if OnePlus can keep their extremely competitive pricing with what would most likely be an expensive component in the pop-up camera.
The OnePlus 7 rumours are heating up, and given that there are still a few months until its announcement, we expect to see a lot more rumours and leaks. While we love leaks and rumours I would also like some surprises when OnePlus take to the stage and announce the OnePlus 7, hopefully we get some.
