Samsung became a major sponsor of Sydney’s world-renowned Vivid light festival last year, and is doubling its efforts this year with two installations at The Rocks, just west of Sydney’s Circular Quay.

The first installation, the Samsung Electric Playground, will take over First Fleet Park and offer a number of attractions for visitors with lights, sound and fun. As you might expect, the attractions are designed to demonstrate Samsung’s Galaxy S10 smartphone but they’re also designed to look great on camera and provide some fantastic Instagram moments.

Guests will be invited to take a ride on Samsung’s Infinity Slide, a 6.5m tall enclosed slide lit by LEDs, where a Galaxy S10 will capture their expression as they exit at the bottom of the slide. There’s also an illuminated Hopscotch board and light installations Pillars of Light and and Field of Light.

Visitors will also be able to get up above the action on Samsung’s Sky Walk, offering such elevated vantage points from which they’ll be able to take in the sights and sounds of Vivid around Circular Quay.

Every 30 minutes the Electric Playground will burst to life with lights, sound and colour so you’ll want to make the most of it for your Vivid photos.

Meanwhile, nearby in the Foundation Hall at MCA, the Samsung Galaxy Studio will offer up an additional set of interactive options for festival-goers in partnership with Instagram.

The Galaxy Studio will offer the Field of Hearts, that creates a symphony of sound and light by sharing pulses of friends or loved ones, and the Ocular Odyssey that explores the hidden “youniverse” within the iris of your eye.

Vivid Sydney opens May 24, and runs until June 15. This year, the festival sees light installations in Barangaroo, Chatswood, Circular Quay, Darling Harbour, Luna Park, and Taronga Zoo.
