With HTC having gone a bit quiet on the phone front and Google having bought the majority of their phone hardware team, we were beginning to wonder if HTC – who can make great hardware – were ever going to release a new phone.
According to the latest rumors, HTC may have abandoned the increasingly expensive “flagship market” and will be focusing on the new premium mid tier market.
The HTC U19e is apparently going to hit the world stage next week on 11 June with some interesting specs on board. Packing a Snapdragon 710 with 6GB of RAM, a 6-inch FHD+ 18:9 display, dual rear cameras (16MP + 8MP) and dual front facing cameras (8PM + 5MP) all powered by a beastly 3,930 mAh battery, the U19e will be a more than capable device.
In the post Pixel 3a world they only thing that will really matter is if the cameras provide top notch photos. Even with a premium build and those more than adequate, and technically superior to the Pixel 3a specs the success of the device will still likely rest on the cameras.
HTC is no slouch where cameras are concerned and it’s very likely that the cameras in he U19e will provide better than mid tier images, perhaps even enough to tempt a few buyers away from the Pixel 3a, which does seem to be suffering the Pixel memory management issues we’ve all come to know and love.
