Vodafone has released new data this morning showing that Australians could be overpaying for their mobile bills. In the current climate of rising interest rates, mortgage repayments, rents and more, we all need to be mindful of where our money’s going they say.
30 per cent of Australians are forking out $70 or more each month on high-priced mobile plans despite a growing hunger for greater value. High-priced mobile plans are hitting Australians’ hip-pockets with one in five saying they have missed a payment on their mobile phone plan in the last 12 months.
Further findings from the research include:
- 45 per cent of Australians haven’t changed mobile providers in five years or more.
- More than 20 per cent of Aussies have given up going to dinner and drinks with friends and family to maintain payments on their phone.
- A third of Australians would give up a coffee a day to continue using their mobile phone.
- More than 30% of respondents would change provider for a cheaper plan that had the same amount of monthly download data.
